Origins of beauty
God used up all his reserves of beauty,
Just to conceive your face.
Then forged the earth from the leftovers,
To give his greatest achievement a place.
The gift of sight was granted
To the rest of us,
So we could merely bask
And in your beauty share,
Content we can breathe
The same air
The words and superlatives,
Fell down from heaven.
For the poets to inspire,
To write the songs
sung by the choir.
To win a fleeting glance,
From the eyes,
They all desire to romance.
Love inevitably evolved
Whipping us along
Getting us all involved.
For a chance to be one
To kiss your face
And have no one else
Take that place.
